Eckmühl lighthouse
The Eckmühl lighthouse has stood proudly since the 19th century on the port of Kérity, in the city of Penmarc'h. Still in operation, its 307 steps can be climbed on your own or with a guide, day or night (night tours only in summer).

Boatcruise for a day to the Glénan Islands
Departing from several ports not far from Léchiagat, the company “Vedettes de l’Odet” invites you to embark for a day and discover the Glénan archipelago, nicknamed the "Seychelles of Brittany". A host of activities are available on site, including kayak hire, diving trips and sailing lessons.

Surfing lessons at Pointe de La Torche / Pors-Carn
The well-known surf spot of La Torche (commune of Plomeur) is a 15-minute drive from the house (also accessible by bus). Particularly popular for its year-round waves, La Torche is frequented by surfers from all over Brittany and France. It's the ideal place to start surfing, with or without the help of one of the many surf schools in the area.
Beware, however, that depending on conditions, the spot may require surfing experience and a good knowledge of the area (due to the presence of “baïnes”). For further information, contact the lifeboat station at the entrance to the beach.

Vous n’aurez pas tout vu du pays Bigouden si vous ne faites pas le tour des ports des communes proches de Léchiagat : Le Guilvinec, Saint-Guénolé, Kérity sont autant de lieux où l’on s’imprègne de l’ambiance bien vivante du retour de la pêche et de la vente de poissons frais.
Visit Haliotika, la cité de la pêche in Guilvinec
At the entrance to the port of Guilvinec, Haliotika offers an immersive experience in which you can discover the life of a fisherman and the different fish species found along the coast. A visit to the “Cité de la Pêche” is an enriching experience for all ages.
Bicycle rental
In summer, it's great to cycle between Léchiagat and the surrounding towns to reach the various beaches or the market. Don't hesitate to rent your bikes in Le Guilvinec for a weekend or the whole week. You can leave them in the backyard of the house, or in the garage at your disposal.

Kayak rental
The nautical center of Le Guilvinec offers kayak trips to the “Etocs”, either on your own or with a guide, to observe the seals resting on the rocks at low tide.

This is a very nice bar in Kerity with a sea view. There is parking right in front.

Things to See in the Surrounding Area
Beach/Walks in nature
There are many walks within easy reach of the house. For example, take the coastal path above Pors Treillen beach (a stone's throw from the Dock), then walk along the many beautiful beaches along the Chemin des Dunes to Plobannelec-Lesconil and its superb rocks overlooking the sea. To the west, the beaches of Penmarc'h await you, as you’ll walk along the path that begins at Plage de la Grève Blanche.
For hikers, the GR34 hiking trail, also known as the Sentier des Douaniers, passes right in front of the house, enabling the most courageous to tour the whole of Brittany.
There's no shortage of viewpoints in the area: don't hesitate to take “la route du vent solaire” in Saint-Guénolé to snap a few photos. Likewise, take the time to walk to the end of Pointe de a Torche for a 360° view of the sea, beach and fields. Beware, however, that some sites are protected: make sure you don't venture beyond the marked paths to preserve the local flora and fauna.
Markets
There are many markets around the house. You'll find a wide choice of fruits, vegetables, breads, meats, fish, cheeses and traditional Breton desserts... The market in Le Guilvinec takes place on Tuesday and Sunday mornings along the rue de la Marine and around the church. A little further afield, in Saint-Guénolé-Penmarc'h, the market takes place on Friday mornings on the fishing port, all year round.
Souvenir shops
Take home a souvenir of your stay in Léchiagat at Les Docks de la Mer (professional equipment, gifts, food), or take a stroll along rue de la Marine (Guilvinec commune) and its many boutiques.
